UCL Global Masters Scholarships for International Students
Brief description
The UCL Global Masters Scholarships aims to enable and encourage international students from lower income backgrounds to pursue full-time Master’s degree studies at UCL.

- Level/Field of study: All postgraduate Taught Master’s Degree Programme in any subject offered at the University. Distance-learning programs are not eligible for this scholarship.
- Number of Awards: Up to 85 scholarships are available in 2024/25 with five aimed specifically at students from India.

- Scholarship value/duration: The scholarship is worth £15,000 and is tenable for one year only unless the full-time programme is 2yrs in length. In that case the scholarship will be paid 50% in each year.

Eligibility
Candidates can be from any country outside the UK but must fulfill all the following criteria:
- Eligible to pay the overseas fee rate;

ADB Scholarships at University of Auckland
The ADB-Japan Scholarship programme aims to provide an opportunity for well-qualified citizens of ADB’s developing member countries to undertake postgraduate studies in economics, management, science and technology, and other development-related fields at participating academic institutions in the Asia-Pacific region. Scholarship benefits
The ADB-JSP provides for the scholar’s tuition fees, airfare to and from Auckland, basic cost of living, health and medical insurance, and a special grant for thesis preparation (for scholars engaged in research).
Eligibility
You must:
- Be a national of an ADB borrowing member. For a list of current developing member countries visit ADB – Japan Scholarship Programme.
- Have gained admission to an approved masters at an approved academic institution.
- Have a bachelors degree or its equivalent with a superior academic record.
- Have at least two years of full-time professional work experience (acquired after a university degree) at the time of application.
- Be proficient in oral and written English communication skills to be able to pursue studies.
- Be under 35 years old at the time of application. In exceptional cases, for programmes which are appropriate for senior officials and managers, the age limit is 45 years
- Be in good health.
- Agree to return to your home country after completing the programme.

Applications are will be close on July. The University of Auckland is no longer offering the ADB-JSP Scholarship from July 2024.
You can apply for the scholarship only after you have gained admission to an eligible postgraduate programme listed above and received an Official Offer of Place from the University of Auckland.
To apply for the scholarship, you will need to complete the Asian Development Bank – Japan Scholarship application form and submit it with a copy of your offer letter together with other supporting documents by POST to the University of Auckland.
Applications for 2024 intake will close on 21 July 2024.

DAAD Scholarships in Germany for Development-Related Postgraduate Courses
The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) scholarships offer foreign graduates from development and newly industrialized countries from all disciplines and with at least two years’ professional experience
The chance to take a postgraduate or Master’s degree at a state or state-recognized German university, and in exceptional cases to take a doctoral degree, and to obtain a university qualification (Master’s/PhD) in Germany.

Scholarship Benefits
The scholarships include monthly payments of 861 euros for graduates or 1,200 euros for doctoral candidates; payments towards health, accident and personal liability insurance cover; and travel allowance, unless these expenses are covered by the home country or another source of funding.
The scholarship duration is 12 to 24 months (depending on the particular institution) for Masters and 42 months for PhD.
Eligibility
- Is currently working either for a public authority or a state or private company in a developing country and, as such, is engaged in the planning and execution of directives and projects with emphasis on development policies having a bearing on technological, economic or social areas
- Holds a Bachelor’s degree (normally four years) in a related subject.
- Has completed an academic degree with far above average results (upper third) and at least two years of related professional experience after the first degree (bachelor) at the time of application
- His/her academic degrees should normally not be more than six years old.
- For study courses in German(scholarship includes a 6-month German language course): Successful passing of the language examination DSH 2 or Teesta 4 before the start of the study course. Therefore a minimum German language level of B1 at the time of application is a requirement that needs to be proofed by providing a certificate.
- For courses in English:Proof of adequate language skills, according to the regulations of the respective courses

Benefits of University of Twente masters Scholarships
The scholarship value ranges from € 3,000 – € 22,000 for one year. In case of a two-year study programme, students can receive an additional UTS of an amount equal to that in the first year when they meet the process requirements for the UTS.
Eligibility
To qualify for a UTS, candidates must fulfil all of the following requirements below:
- Application for an UT scholarship is a procedure separate from the application for course entry at the University of Twente. Regardless of funding, you will need to gain an admission letter first.
- You have been(provisionally) admitted to one of the qualifying UT Master programmes starting in the academic year 2024/2025 (September). Please note: After completion of your application, it may take up to 8 weeks before you receive the results.
- You must have a student number.
- You have not graduated from a UT graduate programme;
- You comply with the conditions for obtaining an entry visa in the Netherlands (if applicable);
- You comply with the general English language test requirement Academic IELTS 6.5 (or TOEFL iBT of 90) and an additional 6.0 (TOEFL iBT 20) on the subscore of speaking skills
- You are not eligible for a Dutch study loan;
- The University Twente Scholarship is a scholarship for excellent students. Typically this means that you belong to the best 5 to 10 percent of your class
Deadline and Application instructions
Applications open 15 October 2024.
You have to apply for a Master’s programme first. Once you applied for a Master’s programme and received a (conditional) admission letter, you can apply for the scholarship with your student number.
The deadline for Round 1 applications which opens on 15 October 2023 is 1 February 2024 while the deadline for Round 2 applications which opens on 1 February 2024 is 1 May 2024.
